• The application equipment must be clean, dry and cleared of oil or solvent contamination. The substrates to be protected must be degreased and dried.The product is ready for use. After storage, it is advised to shake the product to obtain complete homogenisation. It is usable cold and pure by brush. If necessary, it can be applied by classical, HVLP or airless spray gun (nozzle > 22, pressure 5-6 bars) or by dipping. If a particular application viscosity is required, adjust it with suitable DIESTONE thinners.
• Covering takes about 10 to 15 min per layer. If a greater thickness is required, apply several thin layers at 30min intervals between each one. The film achieves its final hardness characteristics after 12 to 24 hours drying at ambient temperature (or in 1 hour by stoving at 50-60°C / 122-140°F).
• Before drying, the application equipment can be cleaned with clear water. After polymerisation, use either water with SYNCLAIR A/C (20 %), or suitable DIESTONE diluents.

REMOVAL

It is easily strippable by means of cleaning solvents (such as DIESTONE or DN 108) or alkaline aqueous solutions (SYNCLAIR A/C and SYNCLAIR A2 GEL). If necessary, a strippable overprotection called PELLIMER SE/2 may be applied which can be separately removed.

• By means of alkaline cleaners:
  • The use of alkaline cleaners «SYNCLAIR» offers many advantages: non flammable, will not damage painted or unpainted materials or plastics, absence of unpleasant odours and vapours, biodegradability.
  • In bath, SYNCLAIR A/C will preferably be used at 20 to 30 % in water. By spraying, SYNCLAIR A2 GEL is the most economical product because of its thixotropy. Apply it pure by simple spraying with a classical or airless spray gun ; use the product at a temperature between 20 and 35° C (68-95° F) (at a temperature higher than 40° C / 104° F, the gel may dry prematurely). When applying SYNCLAIR A2 GEL, start the spraying from the bottom of the vertical surfaces to the top in order to avoid the formation of bad edges. After 20 minutes contact, rinse by flushing under pressure, with hot water.
• By means of cleaning solvents:
  • The use of cleaning solvents may be interesting in case of finishing or stripping operation just before painting the protected metals. Preferably use DIESTONE. When the work or the premises location requires a non flammable diluent at an ordinary temperature, use DN 108.
  • If PROPACO SC itself requires to be cleaned without stripping the protection film, use the diluents degreasers HYSO 96/1 or HYSO 99, which are not aggressive on the dry film of PROPACO SC.
