Description of CORROTEK
Corrotek is a liquid in-process rust preventive for use on steel parts. It provides rust protection and normally does not have to be removed prior to assembly of the protected parts.
Corrotek is a clear aqueous solution of rust inhibitors.
- Excellent for in-process rust protection (flash rust).
- Dry film – no oily residue.
- Low use cost.
- Does not contain caustic, nitrite or phosphate.
- Easily dispensed.
CORROTEK is a product from the MagChem range.
Corrotek is an in-process rust preventive compound. It is not intended to be used as an indoor rust preventive for storage purposes. When used as prescribed, Corrotek will not interfere with NDT operations. The rust protection efficiency will vary with the following factors:
1) concentration used,
2) humidity, quality of air and temperature in work area.
Keep in a warm place. If product has been frozen, warm to 20oC (70oF) and agitate until clear by rolling drum, stirring or the like. For more information regarding the danger of the product, please consult the product safety data sheet according to local regulation. For industrial use only.
Directions for use
Spray Washers and Soak Tanks:Corrotek is normally used at a concentration of 3% to 5% with water in the final rinse stage. Heating the solution will promote drying of the parts. The recommended temperature range is 60 – 77°C (140 – 170°F). Higher temperatures will merely accelerate evaporation of the solution in the tank, and not significantly improve flash-drying. An immersion/contact time of 1 to 2 minutes is necessary to allow for heat absorption by the parts, in order to produce the flash-drying. Cleanability:The rust preventative film left on parts by Corrotek can easily be removed by any aqueous method, even tap water.
