DS-801 is a low cost, environmentally compliant solvent developed for cleaning paint spray guns and other painting equipment. DS-801 is unusual in that it effectively cleans both water-based and oil-based paints as well as high solids, polyurethane coatings. DS 801 is a low VOC (according to US regulation) solvent blend developed to replace toluene, xylene, MEK and other solvents traditionally used for cleaning paint equipment which are Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP) and/or have toxicity concerns. DS-801 is also used as a general purpose hand-wipe cleaner in applications where an aggressive, fast evaporating solvent is needed and flammability is not a critical concern.
