Our chemical solutions have impacts on health and the environment. That’s why we began rolling out Life Cycle Assessment, or LCA.

LCA lets us measure a product’s total impact across 16 environmental indicators—from the extraction of its raw material or the raw materials that make it up, through to the product’s disposal after use.

This helps us make smart ecodesign choices. We tested cutting-edge tools and streamlined analyses to get consistent results.

Today, SOCOMORE is committed to two impact-reduction paths: one with a decarbonization approach, we aim to reduce scopes 1 and 2 by 50% by 2030. The second is using Life Cycle Assessment to cut environmental impact. Our goal is to have more than 90% of revenue from non-CMR products, our CMR-free products, and the development of low-impact solutions.

LCA presents challenges in the chemical sector for collecting primary data from suppliers. Few of them provide data on the 16 life-cycle impacts beyond carbon. So we use existing databases like ADEM, Echo Event, or SOCOMORE’s own.
